Choosing the right catering equipment hire can be tricky but we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you with our selection.

How do I know which kind of oven hire I need to choose?

Whether it’s a temporary or permanent commercial kitchen that is being set up, it’s important to get the equipment involved right. Oven hire is one of the bigger components of any kitchen and getting that wrong can be a very expensive mistake.

At Expo Hire Birmingham we offer a choice of LPG and electric ovens for hire; each of which are suitable for different settings. Electric ovens for hire are used in indoor areas where they can bake, roast and grill food easily. However, because electric ovens need lots of power to run they are not suitable to be used outdoors. The wattage required by electric ovens to run can easily trip temporary power supplies such as generators and extension leads. The portability of LPG bottles mean that LPG ovens are the perfect choice for usage outside; even an oven with powerful burners like our six burner oven can happily run off an LPG bottle. However, LPG ovens are not allowed to be used indoors due to the potential lack of ventilation of exhaust fumes.

Having high quality stock has always been something that we pride ourselves upon and because of this we frequently replace our ovens with new ones. This is particularly important with ovens which are often the main workhorse of a kitchen and allows our customers to order from us with peace of mind.

What kind of fridge hire is there?

In need of extra refrigeration space to keep your food and drinks cold at your next event or occasion? We work with lots of commercial kitchens as well as with events and functions throughout Birmingham and the Black Country to help with fridge hire needs. Our expert drivers frequently deliver fridges for hire to venues throughout the West Midlans, helping to make sure that drinks and food are kept cold at events and occasions throughout the year.

We have a wide selection of fridges for hire in stock at Expo Hire Birmingham. For example, our upright glass-fronted display fridges are one of the most frequently hired catering hire products we have on offer. They go out on hire to a variety of places, from exhibitions at the NEC to restaurant kitchens and small functions. For those running pop-up bars, we stock double door bottle coolers which are great as an under counter fridge. If more specialist products are required, we also have wine fridges, countertop fridges and chilled drink dispensers available.

We know from experience that commercial kitchens often have little space to chill and prepare food. To solve this problem, we offer counter fridges with integrated workspaces which can be moved quickly into position with ease. At the other end of the spectrum, our extra large double door fridges are just what is needed for kitchens with large storage requirements.

Is there commercial barbecue hire available?

Spring evenings and summer days are a popular time for big outdoor events, and serving food at them is always a must. While your average garden party can make do with just a small bbq, we know that when it comes to our commercial customers, commercial barbecue hire is what is needed.

The barbecues for hire we have in stock have been chosen with large outdoor events in mind and are readily capable of feeding a large number of guests at once. The Cinders barbecue is an industry standard and has features such as two separate cooking areas, allowing for both meat and vegetarian menus to be cooked at the same time without any worry about cross-contamination. We also stock gas bottles and wrenches so customers can be sure they have everything they need to get going quickly.

What do I need to know about catering equipment hire?

Regardless of what catering equipment you hire, there are some important things to take into consideration before hiring.

The most important consideration is power. All of our electrical items use a standard three pin UK plug and have been PAT tested prior to dispatch. Please check the wattage required as more powerful products can trip extension leads and generators. As a rule, electric equipment is designed to be used indoors.

Our LPG equipment is all regularly certified by a Gas Safe Engineer as being safe to use, and certification is available on request. All of our equipment uses standard bayonet fittings and can be attached to 19 or 47kg gas bottles. We cannot do this for you on delivery – if you’re not sure how to do it please ask a Gas Safe engineer to connect it for you. LPG equipment is designed to be used outdoors in the main.

I'm ordering a large amount of catering equipment hire. Can I put down a deposit?

Be rewarded for your forward planning for your next large event without killing your cashflow. At Expo Hire Birmingham, our deposit scheme is designed to help you. If your hire charge is over £500, you can now book your hire equipment with just a 25% deposit, paying the remainder up to 28 days prior to delivery.
